I really enjoyed this class and learned so many important tool to improve my life. I loved how it was self-paced and the videos made it really interesting and fun. It was a lot of work, but useful and enjoyable!

The biggest takeaway includes recognizing when I am "cat"astrophizing in my mind, and the understanding that I can control it instead of spiraling. Also how much visualizing, deep breaths and tone of voice matters.

Great list. I forgot my pets on mine, and I really believe they bring pure joy and calming feelings.

1 - What movie did you watch? I watched Uncle Buck. One of my all-time favorite movies. 2 - Who was the main character and what was their objective? The main character was Buck, and his objective was to take care of his brother’s children while his brother and sister-in-law had to go out of town to care for her sick father. However, he also craves a connection with his brother and his family, which is not there due to obstacles. 3 - What obstacles did they have to overcome? Being unemployed, not married, child-like, and absent from his nieces and nephew’s lives, he had to fight to connect and earn the respect of the oldest niece, Tia. Buck also must grow up/get a job, if he wants to keep his girlfriend, who he does love, Chanice. Growing up/acting more mature/getting a job, is the same obstacle to earn the respect of his brother. 4 - What were some of the specific tactics used to overcome the obstacles? Buck tried to be friendly with her, but that didn’t work as Tia was still upset about having to move away from her old home/school/mom’s family. Buck then embarrasses her to try to get her to behave, and also a bit of retaliation. Then he tried to protect her by going to a party to scare her bad-boy boyfriend. He finally tries to understand her, and they have a real conversation and open up to each other. Buck tries to teach the younger kids how to cook and clean and learns that you can have fun being responsible. He also realizes how much he loves his girlfriend and tries to more mature and responsible to keep her in his life by accepting her job offer and opening up to her about how much he loves and needs her. This learned maturity also helps with his brother and sister-in-law, which will bring Buck closer to his family, finally connecting in a meaningful way. 5 - What were 3 supporting characters and their objectives? Cindy’s, Buck’s sister-in-law, need to get to her sick father immediately but her obstacle is needing to find a responsible person to take care of their children. Chanice, Buck’s girlfriend, wants Buck to get a job and settle down with her, but her obstacle is Buck’s immaturity. Mazy, the youngest niece, wants to have fun and be silly and loved, her obstacle is a mean Principal at her school.
